Dr. Matthew Colman

Dr. Matthew Colman is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery and musculoskeletal oncology. He completed his undergraduate studies cum laude at Dartmouth College and earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Colman further honed his skills through an orthopedic surgery residency at the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. To deepen his expertise, Dr. Colman completed fellowships in both pediatric and adult musculoskeletal oncology at Harvard University, as well as orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery at the University of Utah. His fellowship training equips him with a unique ability to address a wide range of complex conditions.

Dr. Colman is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for all spinal issues including degenerative diseases, deformities, trauma, tumor, and other conditions. His approach integrates the latest techniques and research to deliver optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, he treats bone and soft tissue tumors, especially those affecting the spine, sacrum, and pelvis.

He is an active member of multiple prestigious professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopedic Association (AOA), the North American Spine Society (NASS), the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS), and the Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS). Additionally, he is a longstanding member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, University of Chicago Chapter. Dr. Colman’s extensive training and commitment to his field ensure he remains at the forefront of advancements in spine surgery and spinal oncology.
